Control the DJI Neo 2 with Apple Watch plus new alerts and stability improvements
The new Neo 2 firmware update introduces Apple Watch control, making DJI’s compact drone easier to operate during hands-free activities such as cycling.
With Remote Control via Apple Watch, pilots can access key flight functions through the DJI Fly app, offering quicker interaction when your iPhone is not immediately accessible.

The update also adds beep notifications for low battery and subject-tracking loss, providing clearer alerts in active flight scenarios.
General performance and stability fixes are also included.

Which Apple Watch models work with DJI Neo 2?
DJI Neo 2 supports Apple Watch Series 8, Series 9, Series 10, Series 11, Apple Watch Ultra 2 and Apple Watch Ultra 3, with watchOS 11 or later required.
The feature is not compatible with Apple Watch SE models, and future support may vary.
DJI recommends using an iPhone 13 or later running iOS 18 or later.
The function is also unavailable in regions where the 5.8 GHz band is restricted, including Japan.
How do I use the DJI Fly app on my Apple Watch?
Pair your Apple Watch with your iPhone and make sure DJI Fly is updated to version 1.19.4 or later.
Open DJI Fly on your iPhone, then open the app on your watch to start using the controls. Tutorial videos are available on the DJI website.
Can I turn off my phone screen while using Apple Watch control?
Yes. You can lock your phone screen or switch to other apps, but DJI Fly must stay running in the background. Do not force quit the app or the connection will stop.
How do I enable voice control?
Allow microphone access in DJI Fly on your iPhone, then open Settings on your Apple Watch and enable Voice Control.
How do I enable audio recording?
Grant microphone access in DJI Fly on your iPhone and switch on App Recording in the app’s Settings.
How do I keep the DJI Fly app display awake for longer?
Set your Apple Watch wake duration to 70 seconds:
Settings > Display & Brightness > Wake Duration > Wake for 70 Seconds.
Why does live view pause when I lower my wrist?
Apple Watch enters a low-power state when idle or when your wrist is lowered, which temporarily pauses live view.
Shooting status remains visible. Raise your wrist or tap the screen to resume the feed.
Can I use DJI Fly in Low Power Mode?
No. DJI Fly is not supported in Low Power Mode. To use the app, turn it off via:
Settings > Battery > Low Power Mode.
Why is voice control slow or the live view choppy?
This may be caused by signal interference, background apps using communication channels, or low battery on either device.
